To the Sea!

Throwing
rocks in the water. See Victoria, Canada in the background?

Mussel
worm? Anyone? Bueller?

Millie showing me her pretty rock and
Josiah... sitting on a nest?

 Alek watching some guys surf.

Gabe too cold and stiff to duck out
of the way of my camera. HA!

I told you you'd want your jacket.

Field Trip!

But
first, a precious homeschooling moment. Gabe snuggled up on the couch
with Gracie while she reads aloud.

We
went to the Olympic National Park's visitor's center, on a short hike
and then a picnic lunch. We had a great time!

Here's Alek writing down the tallest
mountain in the park during the scavenger hunt and then hiking.

Boys
being boys!

Alek's 10th Birthday

Entirely
too many candles for a child of mine's birthday cake. I told him he was
grounded from any further birthdays but I have a feeling he's not going
to obey.

Alek's
Grand and Glorious Grandparents.

We
blew up some punch-balloons and put them on the counter but they kept
falling on the very muddy, ucky floor. Josiah, of course, chose the
uckiest one he could find. His punches were forceful enough to cause the
balloon to boomerang right into his face. The balloon got a little
cleaner, thanks to Josiah's face.

Millie, happy now that her tummy's full
of sugary cake and ice cream and Josiah ready to whop the pinata.

Gracie walking near the playground and
Millie swinging.

Mexico!

 Josiah,
who seems to be extremely intolerant to sunlight, kept asking me for my
sunglasses. We bought him a pair of his own on the way home.

A
horseback ride in Rosarito, Mexico. They no longer let them take the
horses on the beach, so that was a bummer. It was fun anyway, y muy
barato, solamente cincuenta dolares por media hora por todos de nosotros.

It
was SO windy that day! The wind (and the upstairs neighbors) woke me up
the night before and I thought for sure they were going to evacuate us
at any moment. It was very loud!

Gracie on her horse.

Mi familia querida que vive in
Mexico.

I've known them since I was a young teenager & they are the sweetest
people! It was really fun to see them.

Leaving Mexico. Notice Josiah has a
little color on his face?

Some pics of Mexico as we were
leaving.

Trying to get across the busy border.

Lots
of beggars and vendors trying to collect some money.

A
picture of Mt. Shasta on our way home. Took this driving 65mph through a
dirty window. LOL!
