Disneyland, Part 3

And what Josiah thought about
Disneyland: always wanting mom to hold him. :)

Disneyland, Part 2

I
really didn't take too many pictures in Disneyland. I brought our video
camera and never even took it out once. *sigh* Most of my pictures are
when the children stopped to play in a play area and I have a lot of
Millie and Josiah. Kenton would take the older children on a ride &
I would wait with the two littlest & then I'd go on the ride too. I
needed something to do while we just sat there & waited. ;)

I was pretty proud of my children's
bravery! All except Josiah (because of his size) went on the Hollywood
Tower of Terror. Alek even went on it a few times. They all tried all
the rides they could at least once. Even Gabe! Josiah even went on the
Matterhorn 3 times! I won't say he liked it, but he went on it. LOL!

The
Dumbo Ride. Josiah was so excited about going on this one, and he was
asleep while he rode on it! You can barely see him in the Dumbo behind
Alek & Gracie, asleep in Kenton's arms. The line is always long for
that ride so we didn't go on it again. Josiah didn't really want to
anyway. He liked the POOH ride.

The girls playing in Toontown.
A is for... well, Alek, of
course!

Me and my terrified, poor little children
on the Tower of Terror. I look SO sympathetic, don't I?

Trip to Disneyland

We're
back from our vacation! Bet you didn't even know we were gone! We had a
great time but Kenton & I both came down with the FLU on the last
day of the drive home. We're still feeling pretty yucky.

So we drove down to Mexico and back
and made lots of stops along the way. And as you probably already
figured out, one of those stops included Disneyland.

The children did great on the drive!
We brought a set of earphones and a tape/CD player for each of them. We
checked out LOTS of books on tape/CD from the library and they loved
that. Josiah was pretty grumpy until we got to Modesto though!

Millie
listening to her books on tape.

What
happened every time I tried to get a picture of Gabe (notice
"empty" car seat behind & to the right of Gracie.)

We got to Modesto late Thursday night. We
stayed at Kenton's cousin's house, in their very nice
almost-like-a-house barn. There is also a Christian school on the
property, which meant lots of room to run around! So the next morning we
held several running races between the children so they could let some
energy out.

Later on, we took Grandma Lola out to
lunch at Baker's Square.

Then Kenton took the two littlest and I
back to the barn so they could nap. When Millie got up, she played
outside on the playground for a while.

I didn't take as many pictures as I
should've. That evening we got together with my dearest friend,
Jeanette, and her sweet family. We had a great time. It was a little
hectic to think about taking pics. The next morning I got my hair cut
and went to the Boone's for lunch and then to the hall for a get
together will all of Kenton's cousins. They all showed up & it was
so nice to see them! It's been well over 3 years, almost 4, since we've
seen them! I hardly recognized a lot of the children! Josiah woke up
with a fever that day & wasn't feeling to well. I almost just took
him to urgent care, but I would've missed out seeing them all. I hope
none of their children got sick, but Josiah was the only one in our
family that got it, so I'm attributing it to his thumb (germ) sucking
habit.

The next morning we went to our old
church and out to lunch with some friends. It was so nice to be there!
Then we headed to Anaheim, with a short stop in Selma (near Fresno) to
have Josiah checked out since he still had fever. (viral) We got into
Anaheim pretty late.

Basketball. Lots of It.

Gracie's
basketball game. A bit of man-to-man mismatch but Gracie held her own.

Another
bit of a mismatch, if you ask me. Gracie is pretty scrappy on defense,
so maybe I should look at is as a compliment that the coach thought she
could defend these girls (even though the one up above shot over
Gracie's head several times.)

What
Josiah thought of having to sit through FOUR basketball games today.

Children Are God's Greatest Invention

Millie,
pretending to be asleep. One of her favorite poses, I believe.

It
was so cute. While I was folding clothes the other night, I heard Gabe
softly singing Home on the Range while strumming Kenton's guitar. He was
all decked out in his cowboy gear and "allowed" me to take
some pics. Notice the outfit change. He wanted "more" cowboy
stuff, but came back with what seemed like less.

Come
closer. I DARE you.

Homeschool Projects

This week
in school we studied the Gold Rush, the Pony Express and the telegraph
among other things. The children and Kenton (but mostly Kenton- okay so
the children mostly watched- occasionally) built a working model
telegraph!

Perfecting
it.

Trying
it out & it works!

We
had a new student in our classroom today! He was a little big for the
desks, but he didn't complain. He was eager to get started!

It
was immediately apparent that he was gifted artistically. His teacher
let the latte slide for today.

His
artistic talents drew the other students away from their work like
magnets. They couldn't get enough of him nor his work! His masterpiece
now resides on the coveted residential space known as the refrigerator
door.
